IT’S SWING TIME!

LOLA’S WORLD RECORDS releases third edition of Swing Style series

Brand new songs with impressive performances and the best covers of standards are collected in one album for cool sway and dreamy contemplation as well as hearty Swing, Jive and Lindy hop. DJ Gülbahar Kültür, known for her eclectic and wide-ranging taste, but even more so for searching out songs that are fresh and unique is the name behind the very compilation. She raises the bar higher up in the third volume of Swing Style series and presents a superb album of the genre. At the first glance, names included in the album straightaway give an idea about the top quality of the collection. Swing performances from popular artists and samples from Electro-Swing that is subject to ever growing number of fans particularly among younger generations, allow for weaving a dance set in-and-out of many influences based on the leitmotif of Swing. Charismatic British talent Jamie Cullum’s overwhelming interpretation of the famous motion picture song Singing in the Rain opens the album. Bobby Caldwell takes us Beyond the Sea with his fantastic voice; Helen Schneider swings delightfully in the jazz standard song Everybody Loves My Baby and the legendary, ever suave Bryan Ferry sings caressingly: Love Me or Leave Me. Parov Stelar who has taken over the global music scene like a phantom in recent years; Bart&Baker the ones that uncover the shades of swing music for vintage fans and young listeners, Eartha Kitt, best known for her highly distinctive singing style and her 1953 hit recordings; Anita O'Day the "hip" jazz musician of 1930s and onwards; Sugarpie and the Candymen, so called the sound of the forties; The Puppini Sisters, characterized as "swing-punk" and revival of burlesque and Alice Francis, a new-born star who will definitely be the centre of great attention in Swing scenery, all come together for a peerless selection in Swing Style Vol. III.

With titles like Peanut Vendor, one of the most famous pieces of music created in Cuba; the popular calypso Rum' n' Coca Cola and Yes! We Have No Bananas, the “novelty song” from the 1922 Broadway revue, the album is absolutely a beckon for the dancefloor.

The variety of countries of the artists and groups included within the album is the evidence of Swing revival -aka neo-Swing- taking over the whole world: The Speakeasies' Swing Band hails from Greece where Sugarpie and the Candymen and The Puppini Sisters hail from Italy, Deladap and Parov Stelar from Austria, Biboulakis from New York, Magnifico from Slovenia, Tim Tim from Venezuela, Africa, the USA, the Caribbean and Europe and Andy LaToggo from Germany… And this year Swing has not only been the craze in Europe but also in Azerbaijan, where 2012 Eurovision Song Contest will take place; Ilhama shakes the whole country as well as all Europe with her title Bei Mir Bist Du Scheen also covered in the album.

Swing Style Vol.III. is completely positive energy and the pleasure of dancing together… Do not miss out on all the fun!
